THE PANTRY AT RIVES
To provide supplemental food and other basic necessities free of
charge to people of the Rives area who have been impacted by financial problems
such as unemployment, loss of a spouse, health, economic downturn, and other

The Pantry at Rives is a nonprofit organization located within Rives Baptist Church, a certified member pantry of the Food Bank of South Central Michigan (FBSCM) since 2014, and uses a client-choice model versus a pre-selected or box distribution method.
The pantry began as a small stock of nonperishable items in the
cupboards of the church kitchen. As of 2016, the pantry now has built its own
700-square-foot, food-safe space within the church using donations from the
The pantry experienced a ten-fold increase in visits from 2013-2016 and has now drawn patrons in need from across an over 600-square-mile radius. It has a managed inventory and active weekly volunteers and adheres to federal guidelines.
We operate a food and basic necessities pantry inside the Rives
Baptist Church building for the Rives Junction, MI community and surrounding
communities. We depend solely on personal donations, most of which come from
within the church.
1. Use the back entrance of the church during the pantry hours.
2. Complete sign-in each visit.
3. Select amount of food and personal items based on household size.
4. Please limit visits to once every month.

Checks may be payable and mailed to Rives Baptist Church, left with the church office, or deposited in the weekly offering.
